== Welcome to the WiiKey Wiki ==

The WiiKey was announced at the beginning of February 2007 and shipped at the end of the month. It is one of many modchips available for the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii Wii] by Nintendo and acts as a firmware replacement funneled through the debug serial port - tricking the DVD drive into believing that the backup is in fact legit, much like current [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360 Xbox 360] chips do.

== Installation ==

Like its current competitors, the WiiKey is installed onto the Wii's drive either by quicksolder ''or'' using six wires. The chip can then be updated through the use of a Setup Disc which can be downloaded from the chip's website.

To open up the console, the following tools are required:

* A cutter tool
* A small head screwdriver
* A tri-wing driver

Alright, you all know this if you've read the above info, but i'm 21 and i love to beer... well, any alcohol really. I love to sit at home in my LazyBoy and play my Wii or my x360 with a beer in hand! I play on a 42" Panasonic Plasma (model number TH42PX60U) with all the sound going through an older 300 watt stereo system (no surround, just stereo). and man, it looks sweet...Anyways, I live in Waco, TX...yes, the place with David Koresh, but we're not all crazy down here, just most of us... with my girlfriend (we're going on 3 years together) and our two cats; Merlin and Foxy. THEY WILL EAT YOUR FACE!!! well, kinda... but, i digress; I go to school at a local community college for Business/Real Estate but i'm thinking about taking some technology course's as well. There isnt much to do in Waco, so most of my free time is spent at home smoking and drinking. all the while playing vidja games of course. ever since I got my new TV, i've been spending alot of time watching movies and tv shows. i used to not, just because it was hard to ready or see a good amount of detail watching a 26 inch screen from 9 feet away.
