nds-bootstrap is an open-source homebrew application that allows running Nintendo DS games, DSiWare, and Nintendo DS homebrew natively from the internal SD card on Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS as an alternative to a flashcart. It can also be run on flashcarts as an alternative to the kernel for flashcarts with low compatibility or that are unable to run retail games normally.
Frontends
nds-bootstrap is not practical to use on its own, so it generally requires another frontend program to use it. The most popular and well maintained of these are TWiLight Menu++ and forwarders.
