Black Screen Game
Black screen games are PS3 games which freeze on a black screen when launched using the common game mounting method with the PS3 backup managers.
To launch these games, the manager need to unmount both /dev_USB000x/ and /dev_bdvd/, and rename the USB drive to /dev_bdvd/ to emulate the USB device as the real Blu-ray drive.
Only the games located on a FAT32 USB drive can be mounted using this method because the PS3 always needs an access to the firmware located on the internal HDD to run the game, so the internal HDD can't be unmounted and remounted as a blu-ray device.
This mode is referred either as black screen Game, Select+X, or BD-mirror.
When loading a game in memory with the BD-mirror option, the game's PS3_GAME folder is moved to the root of the USB drive, and the entire device is mounted as a blu-ray drive.
When playing another BD-mirror game, or when using the BDROM-Reset homebrew, the PS3_GAME folder is moved back to its original place.
To use this BD-mirror option, you need a payload with syscall8: A Dongle for 3.41fw with Hermes or PL3 payload, or a custom firmware with Lv2 Patcher or BDEMU.bin.
