:On 24 October 2002 the forums and portal were officially opened. the forums grew in size and the website attracted a lot of attention. It was then decided by the staff that ROMs would no longer be available to download from GBAtemp. This was done to avoid legal hassles and to make sure GBAtemp was never shut down.
