* Notes: RETAIL, purchased from Verizon the day they were released. Fresh FAT16 format with nothing but the OS and DoS & PoR copied for my testing. I've found that my SanDisk 2gb MicroSD is absolutely horrible for transferring files to and from. On the SC(ONE) the DoS intro is unbearably choppy and the DS(ONE) gives it a maximum score of "5" (which is 2x). If i set the speed for anything faster than 2x in the SC(ONE) settings, many games freeze up during/or halfway through booting. The card works great on the SC.Lite though the DoS intro, about half-way into it, does not run smooth (but more smoothly than on the SCSD) and PoR gets random freezes.

However it feels a bit slower than my Dane-Elec 1.0GB Japanese micro-SD. The size and reasonable price of 18 Euros make up for that.

The blister containing the micro-SD marketed it as specially suited for Mobile Phones. Probably some mobile phone edition or something. Anyway: great card.

  • Notes: Same 9in1 reader I tested my A-DATA Super 2GB with. Castlevania PoR: No problems whatsoever... Even trying to get it to lock up. Seems to play the opening video at a higher framerate than my a-data--could be just me though.

  • Notes: Awesome card. No lockups on POR. Better than my 1gb kingston MIJ. Bought it at Best Buy for $19.99USD on sale 12/10/07 -after several weeks of use, I have to retract my statement about it being better than my 1GB Kingston. I have had a couple of lockups in about 25 hours of play (only in POR in the teleport room), so it is still an excellent card, but not perfect. (12/24/07)

  • Notes: Purchased from Meritline.com Tested with USB 2.0 flash reader. I tested with the card almost full. About 900 megs on it. No problematic game so far. Intro to Castlevania DOS plays pretty choppy. No problems in-game though. Haven't tested POR. Edit: POR crashes... :(

  • Notes: Purchased from meritline.com. Tested with USB 2.0 flash reader. Tried test with other readers as well and same result. I got it because it was suppose to be the fastest microsd card out there but speeds aren't as I had hoped. It also crashes on PoR.

This card, which has some issues with problematic games (white screen which lasts a couple of seconds in most games (including nanostray, New Super Mario Bros, Castlevania POR) has benchmark stats specifications similar to those of my recently purchased Toshiba (J) 1GB uSD.

  • SC(ONE) Score = 5
  • Notes: RETAIL, purchased from Verizon the day they were released.

  • Notes: RETAIL, purchased from Dixons in the Netherlands January 2008. Default FAT containing 1.6GB of R4 firmware and games while testing. No freezes on Castlevania PoR or other games so far.

  • Random Access : 1.7ms
  • Average Read : 4.3MB/s.
  • Notes: Tested with the R4 bundled USB MicroSD reader (different to all the pics I've seen on the net, a small translucent black one - seems quite sturdy/solid, if a little slow) which is obviously the speed bottleneck. I don't have any other adapter to test with. I've had absolutely no problems with this card - tested 50ish games so far (including both castlevania games) - except for the 'none realtime' in tony hawk downhill jam.
