+ | Hi. I don't know if you're still working on this tool, but I think the help text that is displayed should make it clear that gcm gamename.iso produces useful output on its own (header info). At the moment it reads like you *have* to choose -sh or -fs or -crc. --[[User:Pelago|Pelago]] 22:01, 11 February 2009 (CET) | ||

Introduction
This page is for discussion of the GCM utility. Please leave your comments under the appropriate headers. I have tested the shrinking on some image files, and they have compared exactly with the results of shrinking in GCMUtility. If you find a game that is not the same, please let me know. For now, the shrunken image will be automatically named with "small-" before the original file name. --Dsbomb 07:43, 17 December 2007 (CET)
Problems / Bugs
- I have found a slight difference in the way this program and GCMUtility shrink Ikaruga (NTSC-U). I will be looking into it. -- Dsbomb 07:10, 26 December 2007 (CET)
- I see some more differences in some games with audio streaming. GCMUtility pads certain sound files to the next 0x1000 or x10000. I haven't figured out just how it picks the files to pad like this. Some are sound files (named *.wav, or in a "sounds" directory) are padded, then others in the same game even (such as ones with "music" in the dir/file name) are not padded. More investigation is needed. -- Dsbomb 01:01, 11 January 2008 (CET)
