The EX4DS (aka EX4i Movie) is a slot-1 flashcart based on the R4iLS hardware marketed as a SuperCard DSTWO competitor. Much like the DSTWO, it uses an Actel ProASIC 3 FPGA as a secondary processor for its own cart-specific plugins; those include a multimedia player for hardware-accelerated music & movie playback, as well as a Game Boy Advance emulator.

Its kernel is also the prime source of AceOS - the Ace team later re-purposed the EX4DS launcher menu for AOS with their Ace3DS+ flashcarts.

Unfortunately, the EX4DS could never compete with SuperCard and gain wide-spread usage, and was eventually discontinued a few years later.
